Just a small-town boy, living in a lovely world…
As a child, I gravitated to the old Kimball piano situated in the game room at my Papa Harper’s house. Little did I know as a toddler banging on those ebony and ivory keys that I was beginning to discover a passion that would change my life forever. At age 7, I began piano lessons with Ms. Rhonda Trull—an extraordinary teacher who became one of the guiding influences of my life. Music ignited a passion in me that, second to my relationship with Jesus Christ, brought joy, healing, and purpose, and served as a great companion during life’s highs and lows.
Stumbling upon John Mayer’s live album, “Any Given Thursday,” at age 14, I realized the guitar transcends any previous idea I had of it. So, I developed a passion for playing acoustic and electric guitars. My continued growth in music and performance underscored a lesson I learned early in Ms. Rhonda’s studio: musicians don't just practice to get better; they practice to have more fun. At 16, I had my first paying gig and fell in love with the energy of the crowd. When they were having fun, I was having even more fun. Today, fueled by those who taught and encouraged me, I love playing around the Nashville, TN, area, in my home state of Georgia and beyond, and sharing my love for music with others.
